I painted a custom painted welding helmet for a close friend.  He wanted the helmet to be painted as Venoms face. I cut and sanded the top layer of the helmet in order to get the right shape and texture for painting. I then spray painted the base layer of the helmet to graph out where I would be putting the eyes and mouth. I then sketched out the design and jumped into painting. I added a mixture of paint thickener and gel glossy mediums to create a tar like texture. I also mixed high gloss medium and gel medium to create a drool texture to add to the tongue and eyes. I topped it with a high heat sealer. The helmet is heat resistant and can handle being dropped. The finished product has a lot of people commenting and wanting one of their own.
